as the rain poured and poured outside, i settled in on the couch, cocooning myself within a mountain of blankets. properly snuggled, i flipped on the tv and settled in to watch a good 2 hours of porn. food porn that is.
the barefoot contessa. nigella feasts. easy entertaining with michael chiarello. mounds of butter melting everywhere. turkeys and hams roasting in their own sweet juices.... and there's just something about that michael chiarello: a hot, well groomed man who can prepare succelent meals? and well nigella lawson is a vision herself. her love of food makes me think she could make me bat for the other team sometimes.

I just stumbled on your blog. Im not savvy enough to do my own- but I like reading them.
I have been sidelined with trochanteric bursitis (from running a half on an inflammed ITB...and some overzealous stretching).
Your blog was sooo helpful to read.
I have had to put away the mags and I even moved away from calling my running partner- I just wanted to forget what I was missing. THe internet at times was the worst- how many searches I have completed..under ..PAIN, BURSITIS and MARATHON...etc etc etc.
I understand living with it- and am just now "not feeling it"- and hope to get back moving soon.

Amazing how those cooking shows suck you in, huh? It doesn't seem like they'd be appealing entertainment, but they are!
I like "Everyday Italian" even though I know that woman can't eat a bite of the food she makes -- she's so slim and she's coating half that food in heavy cream!
I also like "Semi-Homemade Cooking" because I think the woman who hosts it is drunk while she's hosting. Some of her recipes are so odd that I can only conclude that a drunk person invented them.
