OUCH. that is some serious OUCH.
and let me remind you i am only 5'3".
drastic measures, people.
there's obviously a lot of self-deprecating things i could say that would be both true and funny. but honestly, who wants to read angsty fat talk. it is what it is. i know how i got here. and not only is it aesthetically unpleasingly, it's just downright unhealthy. and that's the biggest ouch. i can no longer treat my 31 year old body like this. though honestly, this is a reflection of how when my spirit gets beat up i turn to food. (ok, end angsty fat talk)
so there we have it kids. i've got a long road ahead of me.

Holy shizz nit!!! (Not that you posted a pic of you half nekkid...but that you're here! You're back!!! I've missed you!) I can't tell you how much this pic reminds me of me and my journey- same height, almost exact same starting weight, same weight loss goal! YOU. CAN. DO. IT. And I agree that journaling, praying, blogging and talking to your loving white boy and your loving, brown, noisy family are the best tools a girl can have in this journey! I gots myself some of that stuff too! Sounds like 2010 is gonna be an exciting year for you! Can't wait to see how it rolls out, and can't wait to someday bump into each other!
PS- ...and don't make any hasty decisions about the ricebowl bangs just yet! It's your heritage!
You can do this! I'll be here to cheer you on and support you all the way! I got your back girl!
haha- okay, this is me- KelsaLynn that just posted that comment. I am logged in as Michael (my husband) by accident. haha, that's hilarious b/c he sounds so gay! oops
Right behind ya, chica!
You can do it, you are one honest and neat girl...go for it!!
I admire your bravery. I should take some before pics. I think it's probably the most effective motivator. Good luck to you!!
You can do it. Everyday is a new day and one day closer to a healthier you. Never quit.
I don't post a lot on here but I do read your blog and Josie's daily--I'm on the east coast but have similar issues. I'm 5' even and know all about the battle with weight. Similar weight, similar goal. We can all do this, we just need to keep it up and remember to focus on ourselves. Running is always a good start, and you two actually inspired me to begin running for the first time, ever! I never thought I could run, but you all convinced me through your blogs that I could. So maybe I've only done 50 or so miles total in the year, but that's more than I'd done my whole life to date (I'm 31!)
So keep on keeping on! We are all with you!
hey mel - any way i can get in on your blog? if so, my email addy is: jenndumlao@gmail.com
if not, i understand.
I sent you an email!
Good for you for posting these pics! My boot camp instructor wanted us to take 'before' pics as well and ... I haven't done it. Yet. Sigh.
