dude! my quads are sore! from a 5k! when i fall off the wagon, i fall hard.
i tried running today after work...no go. my legs were way too tight and i was getting weird pains in my left foot. kind of like the weird pins and needles feeling when they go numb, only they were never numb. it's hard for me to believe it could be due to my magic shoes, especially since my feet were fine during the race. i'm blaming it on being my feet all day. even though i got new shoes for work a couple weeks ago. really expensive ones. endorsed by the podiatry society of america! my feet are just seriously effed up.
though i do have a sneaking suspicion that i have pf, which i totally ignored during marathon training because i am dumb and didn't want anything to stop me. we'll see how my feet fare once i'm not waitressing anymore...and my new health insurance kicks in. but let's pray that my self diagnosis is totally wrong. and that it isn't anything worse.

Man I hope those feet issues clear up, sounds painful :-(
It's gotta be hard to run and waitress. I waited tables for a long time and being on your feet like that is tiring.
I have been dealing with pf for four months now - I hope it is not that because that is one persistent injury! Stupid foot!
Oh, I hope you're wrong about the PF. That's one injury that takes forever to heal. And belated congratulations on the FT job. Yipee!!!
OH NO! Not PF. Go now, I say, NOW, to get it checked out. Otherwise, you'll end up like me: Five months with NO running.
If you can't go get it checked out now, ice the motherfucker like there's no tomorrow (like any time you've been on your feet), 20 minutes minimum. Stretch your calves like crazy. Do toe-strengthening exercises like picking up marbles with your toes, or scrunching up a towel with your toes. Find someone who can do strain/counterstrain massage b/c that's what really helped me. And limit your running to once or twice a week, no more than 3 miles. If that worsens it, stop running.
did you run your 5K in the brand new kicks?
my quads are always sore after a 5K or speedwork or intervals...
for the PF, if you aren't going to a doc right away - do a lot of icing and always wear shoes - no barefoot.
Nice job on your turkey trot! That was ALL i did this past week... I was worthless! :)
So jealous of your Turkey Trot... but I do hope you loosen up and and get a foot massage soon. I don't know anything about PF and would support everyone's bids for you to go to the Dr., but I'm a bad example. Please take care of yourself, nevertheless. You're a marathoner ;-)
