how's that saying go again?

the early bird gets the worm?

a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush?

each day over the last three days, i woke up feeling not 100%. either i was a little dehydrated, or a little bloated, felt i had too much to do, or felt a little too preoccupied. so i skipped my morning workouts, promising myself i'd squeeze it in later on in the day and that i'd do it better, harder, faster.

i never did. on any of the past three days.

a workout, any workout, even at 80% is better than no workout at all. and my 11 mile long run has been hanging over my head for three whole days and counting...

thanks for your comment on my race.

it just takes one good run to get back into a rhythm, hopefully you'll have that run today. don't let the days off get you down, sometimes an extra day of rest will lead to a great workout.

I'm in the same boat: 3 days, no run. But today I had a hangover that would've slain a walrus, so that was my excuse.

Get with it! Just do it!

It's pure physics: a body at rest tends to stay at rest; a body in motion tends to stay in motion.

Roll out of bed as soon as the alarm goes off, just by standing up you'll get yourself moving. Put on your running gear and walk around doing whatever you do before running. Within 10 minutes, any thought of staying in bed will have left you and within 10 minutes of hitting the road you'll be wondering why you thought about staying in bed.

Hopefully you have given your body the rest it's been demanding! Now get your tush out there and get some miles in girl!

A running partner won't make you feel any better when you crawl out of that nice warm bed but they do tend to make you show up on time for your run. I've made several runs with folks in the morning where the only words spoken were good morning, how far today, and see ya tomorrow. Do you know anyone who runs that can sync thier schedule with yours?
