behold! the power of denim!

premium denim that is. every designer out there has a line of premium denim to make you feel like spending a million bucks makes you look like a million bucks.

and of course i've fallen for it. for some reason the premium denim really does fit better. and finding jeans that actually fit MY proportions is no short of a miracle. i got suckered into a pair at GUESS because they magically thinned my thighs and made my ass look totally cute. BUT i got the last laugh because they were originally something like $120 and i got them on clearance/sale for $75!! and now that i've had them and totally love them, i can't find them anywhere. not even ebay.

but today while i was at target to get packing tape i saw that lo and behold target's mossimo brand has a line of premium denim! a quick detour into the dressing room had me jumping for joy for 2 reasons: the size 6 was TOO BIG!! and they were on sale for $24! i walked outta target with two pairs of size 4 jeans for less than 50 bucks!

i did manage to keep my head about me and remember to pick up the packing tape.

Hmmm, perhaps I should be looking for this premium denim you speak of; I have had no luck with jeans lately. Does Target carry short people sizes?

Thanks for passing along this info!!! Now, I need to clarify: we obviously have the same problem with length/inseam, but you are definitely a smaller woman than I. Let's put it this way: I haven't worn a size 4 since I was 14. So here's my question: do these Target jeans (or the Guess pair, for that matter) seem cut for women who are curvy through the hips, butt and thighs? I mean curvy in a J-Lo kind of way.

jess: they don't come in short sizes, but the pair i got are the right length for when i wear heels and require just a little tuck under if i wear them with sneakers. which isn't perfect, BUT much better than the usual 5+ inches i usually have to contend with.

brunette: i am ample in the hip and thigh region as well. but my butt is less bodacious :( so rock your j-lo body, sister.

i'd give the target jeans a try. heck jeans for $30 is worth 5 minutes in the dressing room. my bodacelli babe friend wears baby phat jeans and they fit her divinely.

I'll have to try the Tar-ghaay brand next time I'm there. Rubenesque is actually the perfect description for my bod, cursed booty and all.

I love a good jeans story!

I bought a pair of Luckies a few weeks ago. They gave me a military discount so I paid $90 for them. The next day, buyers remorse set in so I returned them. The cashier (who was also the manager) forgot to take the mil discount off. Then when she went to hand me my money, realized that she was about to give me $18 more than what I had paid. I told her she forgot about the discount, and she said "it will really mess my register up. can you just take the $108?" After confirming that she was in fact the manager (and not so bright) I walked out of there getting paid to return my Luckies! Then I went to Goodies and bought 2 pairs of fabulous Levis for $60 total!
